17th June in Stuttgart, the PureTech 3-cylinder engine was awarded the title of engine of the year in the 1 to 1.4 litre capacity category by the 17th Jury of the International Engine of the Year Awards organised by the British magazine, "Engine Technology International".
The PureTech engine is enabling PEUGEOT to offer the most efficient petrol vehicles in their category across a number of segments. The PEUGEOT 208 emits from 99g/km of CO2, the 2008 from 102g/km, the 308 from 95g/km and the 3008 from 115g/km.
The accelerated roll-out of the PureTech and Diesel BlueHDi 3-cylinder petrol engines, as well as the new 1.6L THP petrol engines and EAT6 gearboxes, has rapidly and substantially reduced CO2 emissions across the entire range. 24 PEUGEOT models are now the best in their power class for CO2 emissions (7 PureTech, 4 1.6L THP and 13 BlueHDi).

Starting with the PEUGEOT 208 back in 2012, in its 1.0L 68 hp and 1.2L 82 hp naturally-aspirated versions, the PureTech 3-cylinder family has expanded since 2014 with the 1.2L 110 hp and 130 hp turbocharged versions equipped with Stop & Start, first featured on the PEUGEOT 308.
These new engines already conform to standard 6.1, which comes into force in Europe in September 2015. They will continue to be rolled out across the PEUGEOT range in 2015, with new applications on the 208, 308, 2008, 3008 and 5008.
