This new car is aimed at modern customers and their demanding, well-informed nature. To symbolize the new era, the sporty, compact 2+2 coupe is the first Peugeot specialist car to not use the traditional number-based model name. It also uses the new, redesigned Lion marque.

THE EMOTIONS OF STYLE

A truimph of style and technical prowess, the Peugeot RCZ re-invents the original saloon coupe structure with an innovative body type that is both sporty and elegant. The shape of the "double bubble" roof is the unique result of outstanding technical expertise, both in terms of original design and areodynamic performance. Its fluid, athletic contours are accentuated by the two polished aluminium arches that sculpt its profile, giving it an air of nobility and dynamism.

TRIMS AND ACCESSORIES

The black fine-grained Mistral Nappa leather covering the seats reinforced the sporty and refined charactter of the RCZ. For a modern, hi-tech appearance, the fascia panel and the door trum pad top strips are fully enveloped in Peugeot's innovative smoth-textured TechnoPVC material.

SPACE AND AESTHETICS

Practicality melds seamlessly with aesthetics in the RCZ. Going for a long weekend? The boot has a surprisingly generous capacity of 384 litres. Need even more space? Fold down the rear seats backrests, to increase the maximum boot oalume to 760 litres. To think this is all accomplished with meticulous attention paid to the style and finish of the booth with carpet and chromed securing rings as standards.

New sensations abound in the RCZ. The stylish fascia panel offers a refined, uncluttered view. Dynamic lines structure the arrangement of the cabin. Drivers will admire the distinctive metal inserts on the dials of the instrument panel, inspired by the highest level of motorsport and unique to the RCZ.

Meticulous attention has been paid to the style of each component and the elegance of the materials used. Whether it's the leather finish with double overstiching or the use of chromed or aluminium inserts, each part has been produced with the utmost care.

You will immediately notice the fine, soft texture of the fascia panel and the rich thickness of the sports steering wheel's full-grain leather. The figure hugging sports seats are covered in soft and supple Nappa leather. The influence of motor sport prestige continues in the clock, the instrument panels, the metal and carbon-effect background of the dials and the satin chrome inserts on the steering wheel.

Personal Space

Contoured sport seats follow the shape of the body and give you the feeling of being in perfect harmony with your RCZ. The compact, flat-bottom steering wheel plus all the controls fall naturally to hand, reinforcing the impression of comfort and control.

A low, ergonomic driving position allows you to appreciate the fine handling qualities of the car. The sound of the engine on acceleration is particularly polished. This auditory ambiance is enhanced by both the quality of the soundproofing and careful aural tuning of its sound pack.

REFINED EMOTIONS

The Peugeot RCZ's range of engines had not only to live up to the standards of the vehicle itself but also satisfy the demands of modern drivers who are experts in driving pleasure. The answer lies in the choice of engines which are powerful in every sense of the word: generous torque and power, low fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, as we  as compliance with the green Euro 5 emissions standards.

To provide a new driving experience, the Peugeot RCZ concentrates all of Peugeot's expertise in terms of handling and road handling. The Peugeot RCZ has a lowered centre of gravity, with widened front and rear tracks, and reinforced suspension and wheels (MacPherson front suspension, rear suspension with deformable crossmember).

The suspension, like the dampers, has been adapted as a consequence and if you add to this very generous tyre fit, the whole set-up provides extremely effective road holding. The power steering, controlled by a hydraulic power train, is configured to offer precision of the highest order and excellent return of information. It was engineered that the braking should be powerful and sustained, this is provided by large ventilated discs, 302mm in diameter, and 25mm thick, or even, for the 1.6 litre THP (200bhp) engine in particular, 340 by 30mm. The rear is fitted in all cases with 290 by 12mm discs.

This state-of-art engine draws full benefit from the vehicle's chassis. Its innovative Twin-Scroll turbocharged pairs exhaust gases to ensure maximum flow onto the turbine, while its high-pressure direct petrol injection system improves combustion and overall engine efficiency with class-leading fuel economy.

With its maximum torque of 275Nm at 1,700rpm and its maximum power of 200bhp at 5,800rpm, the Peugeot RCZ benefits from acceleration of the highest order 0 to 100km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a fuel consumption of 14.5km/litre for mixed driving (159g/km of CO₂).

1.6L THP 156 bhp 6-speed automatic

The same engine is available with a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, with its maximum torque of 240Nm at 1,600rpm and its maximum power of 156bhp at 6,000rpm, the Peugeot RCZ benefits from acceleration of the highest order 0 to 100km/h in 9.0 seconds, with a fuel consumption of 13.7lm/litre for mixed driving (168g/km or CO₂).

THE PEUGEOT RCZ AND THE ENVIRONMENT

We are involved in a carbon sink programme (they sponsor a large bit of the Amazon rainforest that is used by biologists for studying ecosystems as well as soaking up a good bit of CO₂) and in a recycling thatsees 95% of the materials used to build the Peugeot RCZ being fully recyclable. Now that is a beautiful car.

TECHNOLOGY

It's easy to relax and enjoy the journey thanks to the range of technological equipment offered on the RCZ. This extends from the cruise control / speed limiter, to the audible front and rear parking assistance and JBL Hi-Fi (standard on manual model only) system which includes a 6-speaker AM/FM radio with an MP3 compatible CD player and audio streaming function.

The Peugeot RCZ offers a choice of state-of-the art equipment such as a multi-function trp computer, an anti-thef alarm, a Bluetooth compatible hands-free kit, a USB connector, a jack socket, dual zone air-conditioning and speed sensitive power steering.

INCREASED SAFETY

In keeping with the philosophy of the Peugeot RCZ, an extensive range of equipment is offered to provide you with maximum safety. In addition to road holding of teh highest level, the vehicle's structure and large dimensions contribute to withstanding and absorbing the energy of front and side impacts. It is enhanced by intelligent restraining equipment.

Braking system and ESP (Electronic Stability Program / Dynamic Stability Control)

To retain optimal balance and preserve driving pleasure in all difficult situations, the Peugeot RCZ comes with a sophisticated braking system that combines several functions:

• Anti-skid Regulation (ASR) system which acts on the brakes and the engine management to limit wheel slip during loss of grip.
• Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) which continuously compares the information transmitted by the steering wheel sensor and the yaw sensor in order to detect any start of understeer or oversteer. It then puts your Peugeot RCZ back on course, within the limits of the laws of physics.
• Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps you to gain better control over any loss of grip on emergency braking.
• Electronic Braking Assistance (EBA) which increases the effectiveness of your braking if necessary.
• Hill Launch Assist prevents the car from rolling back or forth for up to 2 seconds, and stops wheelspin when you start on slopes with slippery surfaces.

Intelligent Traction Control

The Intelligent Traction Control system assists in detecting situations of difficult grip which could make moving off and the progress of the vehicle difficult on roads which are wet, icy or covered with snow. In these situations, the Intelligent Traction Control system takes the place of the ASR function by reducing the slipping of the front wheels to favour good traction and maintaining the required direction.

Active Rear Spoiler

Controlled automatically in relation to the speed of the vehicle or deployed at the request of the driver, it optimises the flow of the air and improves downforce for superb high-speed driving.

Airbags

The Peugeot RCZ has 4 airbags to contribute to effective protection regardless of the position of the front seats, with 2 driver and passenger front air bags and 2 chest / pelvis side airbags.

Seat belts

The 4 seat belts fitted in the Peugeot RCZ are all equipped with an unfastening detection system and a force limiter which optimises the restraining of the passengers by avoiding excessive force on the rib cage. Activation of the pre-tensioning system improves the restraint of the front occupants in the event of a front impact of if the vehicle were to roll over.

Auto-dimming rear view mirror

Prevents the driver from being dazzled by vehicle lights from behind for greater safety.

Pedestrain safety

The Peugeot RCZ's raised bonnet is designed to pop up upon impact, reducing the severity of pedestrain injury in the unfortunate event an accident occurs.

2 ISOFIX rear seat

Both rear seats come with compliant child safety seat attachment pointes, ensuring that the little ones are securely fastened on for the ride.

Front and rear diffuser

Enhance the transition between the airflow underneath the car and the airflow of the ambient atmosphere, allowing the smoother, more aerodynamic travel.
