SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER THE PEUGEOT WAY
A Peugeot convoy of eight cars collected food donations from the Sime Darby group of companies in aid of the Boy’s Brigade’s annual Sharity Gift Box food donation drive.
Tis the season to be giving and for the folks at Peugeot, not only did they give, they also lent their hand, and cars, to collect food items for the less fortunate.
On 10 December 2010. an eight- Peugeot convoy led the way and toured the Sime Darby group of companies to collect the food donations for the Boys’ Brigade. The Boys’ Brigade will, in turn, distribute the items to their beneficiaries.
The convoy toured the offices of the Sime Darby group of companies and collected about 70 sacks of rice, 80 tins of Milo, 180 packets of instant noodles and about 150 tins of canned food, just to name a few. This food donation drive is part of the Boys’ Brigade’s annual Sharity Gift Box food donation drive.
The Boys’ Brigade has been bringing cheer to the less fortunate, reaching out to some 28,000 beneficiaries from the Public Assistance Scheme, ComCare Transition Scheme and more than 140 Voluntary Welfare Organizations.
The Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box (BBSGB) is a major annual event held during the Christmas period where more than 3,500 BB Officers and Boys, along with volunteers from other various groups, are mobilised to help collect gifts such as food and beverages from kind-hearted people and distribute them to the needy in Singapore. These beneficiaries include the disabled, welfare homes, the elderly and low-income families. There are also wishes from the beneficiaries that people can help to fulfil, such as those requesting for food or household items, toys and mattresses for children or the elderly.
This year, the BBSGB 2010 aims to fulfil the wishes of 28,439 beneficiaries. AutoFrance hopes that every contribution, whether big or small, will serve to make a difference in someone else's life and aid the Boys’ Brigade in achieving its target.
